    Algebra : <\/strong><\/span>Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear \/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.<\/h3>

    Coordinate Geometry : <\/strong><\/span>Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola.<\/h3>

    Calculus :<\/span> <\/strong>Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.<\/h3>

    Computer Basics : <\/strong><\/span>Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), structure of instructions in CPU, input\/output devices, computer memory, and\u00a0 back-up devices.<\/h3>

    Data Representation: <\/strong><\/span>Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two\u2019s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.<\/h3>

    Operating System : <\/strong><\/span>Main functions of operating systems, Processes, Threads, Interprocess communication, concurrency,\u00a0 Synchronization, Deadlock, CPU scheduling, I\/O scheduling, Resource scheduling. Deadlock and scheduling algorithms, banker\u2019s algorithm for deadlock handling. Memory management and virtual memory. File Systems, I\/O systems, DOS, UNIX and Windows.<\/h3>

    Data Structure : <\/strong><\/span>Arrays and their Applications; Sparse Matrix, Stacks, Queues, Priority Queues, Linked Lists, Trees, Forest, Binary Tree, Threaded Binary Tree, Binary Search Tree, AVL Tree, B Tree, B+ Tree, B* Tree, Data Structure for Sets, Graphs, Sorting and Searching Algorithms; Hashing.
